Job Title: Assistant Vice President/Vice President – Finance GP Accounting

 

The Firm:  Based in New York, the firm is globally recognized as one of the most prestigious and largest credit-oriented alternative managers, generating attractive risk-adjusted returns for its investors through a broad array of strategies including mezzanine, distressed investing, leveraged loans and other special situation strategies.  The Credit Strategies business is comprised of CLOs, publicly listed Closed End funds, SMAs, BDCs and other Customized products.

 

Job Description:

The successful candidate will possess outstanding accounting skills.  The candidate should be able to work independently, as well as with multiple groups within the business unit as well as business segments throughout the firm.   The candidate will primarily be responsible for the 30+ Carried Interest/Incentive fee entities with the following responsibilities:

 

  • Quarterly consolidation reporting for the General Partner’s four business segments
  • Quarterly disclosure reporting and analysis
  • Semi-annual, or as necessary, partner reporting
  • Annual tax reporting
  • Quarterly tax estimate analysis
  • Daily drawdowns and distributions’ cash activity and reporting
  • Internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Design and implementation of new processes to maximize efficiencies and controls
  • Extensive interaction with Fund accountants, Operations team, Treasury and Consolidation Teams
  • Daily and monthly journal entry bookings and related reconciliations
  • Preparation of financial statements and support documentation
  • Various special projects including the conversion of EXCEL General Ledgers to Investran

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience
  • B.S. Accounting degree with strong GAAP/Tax knowledge
  • Incentive fee and carry interest knowledge is required
  • Outstanding general ledger skills and account analysis skillset
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work with various levels of management
  • Outstanding Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of PE, Hedge Fund and Hybrid entities
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • CPA license preferred
  • Excellent partner and SEC reporting skills
  • High energy, results-oriented individual
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Investran, Insight, Essbase and JDE a plus
