Title: Staff Accountant
Location: New York
Job Responsibilities:
o Prepare, review, and analyze NAV, monthly P&L reports, and perform variance analysis
o Perform daily cash and portfolio reconciliations. Investigate, analyze and resolve differences.
o Liaise with the Fund Administrator to assist with the reconciliation of our books to their records
o Income and expense accruals
o Confirm cash settlement on swaps
o Record settlement of private deals
o Weekly and monthly credit default swaps pricing verification
o Review and recalculate monthly bond accruals against Bloomberg and credit default swaps interest accruals
o Update partner allocation spreadsheets
o Respond to margin calls and ensure that the call amounts are correct
o Financial statement preparation, quarterly regulatory compliance, and other ad hoc monthly management reports
o Respond to audit inquiries
o Prepare monthly work papers to support quarterly/annual financial statements
Job Requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
o 2-4 years of experience in the financial industry (public accounting with hedge fund and/or private equity funds as clients is preferred; working privately at a fund administrator also acceptable)
o CPA preferred but not required
o Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, etc.)
o Advent Geneva a strong plus
Base Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 USD
Bonus: Discretionary
