Trading Associate

Position Overview:

Our client is an SEC-registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA and SIPC currently undergoing rapid growth. Backed by an experienced team of financial services professionals, the firm delivers a full suite of diversified institutional and wealth management solutions, spanning trading and execution, capital markets and investment banking, and asset and wealth management services for both institutional and private clients.

They are actively seeking a hands-on Trading Associate to step onto a fast-moving desk and be integral to execution, operations, and client management. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a well-capitalized organization that maintains a boutique firm mentality, across an exciting mix of asset classes.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Execute and service trades across client and proprietary accounts, driving order flow from ticket to settlement
  • Own a genuinely diverse trading book: equities and options (as trader), plus international markets, FX, and fixed income (intermediate level)
  • Run order execution through Bloomberg EMSX and internal direct market access (DMA) systems
  • Monitor trade activity end to end, owning allocations, client-instructed corrections, and reconciliations
  • Build and deliver Best Execution reporting on a weekly and monthly cadence
  • Partner with internal teams, operations, and clients to keep trade processing accurate and on time
  • Manage margin call processing and keep clients informed on buy-ins, sell-outs, and other account-level events
  • Chase down and resolve DKs and trade discrepancies before they become bigger problems
  • Distribute end-of-day trade confirmations and related client communications

Qualifications:

  • Active FINRA Series 7, 63, and 57 licenses
  • 2+ years in broker-dealer trading, operations, or capital markets
  • Solid grasp of equities, options, FX, and mutual fund products
  • Bloomberg EMSX experience and comfort with brokerage operational workflows a strong plus
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities under deadline pressure
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with standard financial industry systems
  • Self-starter who thrives in a small, high-performing team environment
  • Strong understanding of the full trade lifecycle, not just one slice of it
  • Proactive about spotting and resolving operational issues before they escalate
