Trading Associate
Position Overview:
Our client is a growing financial services firm operating across trading, brokerage, and wealth management, with institutional-caliber infrastructure and a lean, boutique culture. The firm is well capitalized and expanding steadily. This is a strong opportunity for a securities professional looking to broaden their exposure across trading and brokerage operations at a growing firm.
They are looking to add a Trading Associate to a fast-paced desk. This is a hands-on role supporting execution, trade operations, and client service across a mix of asset classes, suited to someone with a solid foundation in trading or brokerage operations who is looking to broaden their experience and take on more ownership.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Execute and manage trades across client and firm accounts, owning the process from order to settlement
- Handle transactions across a range of asset classes, including equities, options, and other securities products, with growing responsibility as your book expands
- Utilize industry-standard electronic trading platforms to drive efficient, accurate order execution
- Coordinate closely with internal teams, operations, and clients to keep trade processing fast, clean, and on time
- Take ownership of trade monitoring, including allocations, corrections, and reconciliations
- Manage margin-related account activity and serve as a proactive point of contact for clients on relevant account events
- Identify, investigate, and resolve trade discrepancies before they become bigger problems
- Prepare and deliver trade confirmations and execution quality reporting on a consistent, recurring basis
Qualifications:
- FINRA Series 7, 63, and 57 licenses (or well on your way to obtaining them)
- 2 to 7 years of experience in broker-dealer trading, operations, or a related capital markets role
- Strong working knowledge of equities, options, and other securities products
- Experience with industry-standard electronic trading platforms and broker-dealer operational workflows a strong plus
- Sharp attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Polished communication and client service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard financial industry systems
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy in a small, high-performing team
- Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle and brokerage operations
- Track record of identifying and resolving operational issues proactively
- Collaborative mindset with the range to contribute across functions
