Position Overview:
Our client is a global financial services firm specializing in a full range of diversified investment vehicles.
 
The Assistant Vice President Marketing (AVPM) is a key member of the firm’s marketing department who will drive the monthly and quarterly workflow of product marketing materials. In addition, this individual will work closely with members of the distribution organization to create impactful print and digital marketing collateral and campaigns in support of sales initiatives. The AVPM should have a strong knowledge of financial services, specifically mutual funds, as well as experience with the retail channels (broker-dealers, wirehouses and RIAs) and FINRA advertising regulations. Knowledge of the institutional, international and retirement asset management channels is a plus. The AVPM will be responsible for obtaining compliance and legal review of pieces and for ensuring that materials are accurate and produced in a timely manner.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the production and quality control of monthly and quarterly factsheet and presentations; drive and implement automation where needed
  • Accountable for updating content and ensuring quarter-end workflow is optimized, including the end to end delivery of content
  • Work closely with compliance team to ensure all materials are approved in a timely manner
  • Develop marketing brochures, flyers, client prospect presentations, and other marketing collateral
  • Work closely with sales teams to develop and implement marketing campaigns that support key products as well as the overall brand
  • Over time, work closely with Portfolio Managers and sales for new product launches to develop pitch books, marketing campaigns and educational materials
  • Work closely with design team to conceive creative and impactful print and digital marketing collateral
  • Maintain and manage relationships with various vendors, including automation/sales enablement, print and fulfillment centers
  • Understand firm’s distribution channels and sales goals to prioritize workflow
  • Work on special projects such as copy for the web, sales conference materials, invitations for client events, manage article reprints and client giveaways
 
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience marketing in the asset management industry
  • Undergraduate Degree in Marketing or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Graduate degree or CFA a plus
  • Experience with marketing automation, e-mail campaign and CRM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of asset management product suite, in particular equity strategies and a strong ability to organize and display data.
  • Reading and interpreting key data and information from financial reports, legal documents and other sources and translate this into impactful and clear marketing collateral is critical
  • Ability to interpret a variety of suggestions and instructions shared in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Self–starter with strong project management skills who shows initiative and can take ownership of a project from conception to completion and work effectively as part of a larger team
  • Comfortable with new technology and eager to adopt and introduce technology and creative approaches
  • Must be able to multi-task and shift focus from one project to another but also maintain accuracy and deliver on deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality work under time and cost constraints
  • Creative with a strong understanding of process and demonstrated attention to detail and productivity
 
Skills:
  • Proficiency or Certification in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of Seismic sales enablement software; Salesforce.com and Pardot or equivalent
  • Knowledge of design elements such as color and composition and adept at implementing brand guidelines
  • FINRA Series 7 preferred
  • Knowledge of InDesign, Mac OS, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator a plus
