Position Overview:

Our client is a boutique Real Estate firm specializing in lending, investment, and development within the commercial real estate sector. The company provides financing solutions for real estate professionals, manages a portfolio of residential units and office spaces, and engages in the development of unique real estate projects.


Currently they are seeking to hire a senior level Loan Originations Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the real estate lending space, and a strong desire to work in a vibrant, entrepreneurial environment that fosters collaboration and teamwork.  Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the Senior Loan Originations Specialist will be responsible for the sourcing, management, and placement of new business, as well as overseeing the firm’s existing book of business, and be able to manage the financing needs of an expanding lending portfolio.  The position will be based in their NYC headquarters.


Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Identify and aggressively build & maintain relationships for solicitation of mortgages through contacts with brokers, realtors, lawyers, accountants, builders, and developers.    
  • Foster meaningful relationships with potential and existing borrowers as designated to develop new business and / or retain existing business / lending opportunities.
  • Serve as point of contact with borrowers and / or prospective borrowers seeking mortgage loans, sharing firm mandates and firm loan parameters.
  • Oversee vetting process for applicants to develop information concerning their needs, desires, and earnings to assist in determining whether prospective loans meet firm risk parameters.
  • Hands on oversight and analyzation of all pertinent financial and credit data.
  • Manage and track required due-diligence materials related to each deal transaction.
  • On site visits to targeted geographic regions (within the US) for new business sourcing.
  • Represent firm at industry focused events and conferences.
  • Continued involvement in ongoing trends and developments throughout the real estate market, as well as ongoing rules and regulation changes throughout the industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mortgage loan programs



  • 7+  years of hands on real estate / private credit experience
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of operations, investors and senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate issues, propose and implement solutions, with consideration for all downstream implications.
  • Strong decision-making capability with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and client-driven expectations and deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to multitask in a highly organized manner.
