Senior Accountant
 
Our client is a well- established, dynamic private equity firm that strategically invests in innovative technologies, services, and products.  Currently they seek to hire a Junior Accountant for their growing finance team.  This growth position will offer an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in the current and future growth of a rapidly expanding team & firm.      
 
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
  • Prepare and/or review correspondence with limited partners to address inquires as needed
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual reporting packages for Director of Finance approval
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual financial statements for Director of Finance approval
  • Prepare and/or review of capital calls and distributions for Director of Finance approval
  • Prepare and/or review carry calculations for Director of Finance approval
  • Prepare and/or review Net and Gross IRR calculations
  • Coordinate the delivery of capital call and distributions notices to the limited partners
  • Prepare and/or review investor allocations and partners’ capital statements
  • Assist in the coordination of the audit and tax work throughout the year
  • Work with the finance team and investment professionals to prepare year end documentation for portfolio company valuations in conjunction with ASC 820
  • Prepare and/or review all wires/transfers
  • Manage team staff and all day-to-day team deliverables and functions
  • Assist in the development and training of new team members as required
  • Coordinate and completes special projects as directed
  • Ability to multitask; excellent written and oral communication, organization, time management, planning and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to meet approved schedules and deadlines
  • Implement the new accounting system with the Director of Finance
  • Review of all journal entries and general ledger maintenance for the Fund Accounting and Management Company Accounting
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA is a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Fund Accounting at a fund administration firm or at a private equity fund
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Creative problem-solving ability and sound judgment – ability to use own initiative and take responsibility for decisions
  • Capability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
