POSITION SUMMARY:
Our client is looking to hire a Director of Investor Relations & Marketing to join the New York based team. The ideal candidate can help manage a fundraising process and effectively communicate with investors on an ongoing basis. The Director of Investor Relations will assist the Fund’s Partners in the development and fostering of important investor relations and will manage a pipeline of potential investors, including potential investors sourced through proactive outreach. The Director of Investor Relations will also be responsible for ongoing investor communications, including management of capital calls, regular portfolio updates and financial reporting, and planning investor events. These activities may require the creation or updating of marketing materials, attendance at firm-hosted and third-party events, and may involve domestic or international travel. Above all, they must be willing to put the firm’s success above their own, and help us deliver amazing results. 

BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a strategy and action plan to enable exposure to, and active engagements with, investment organizations.
  • Lead marketing strategy to push the firm’s brand.
  • Lead investor outreach and fundraising efforts globally.
  • Manage investor data requests and ongoing data content.
  • Track firm activities and draft monthly updates for investors.
  • Manage CRM software.
  • Oversee and coordinate investor related events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with high profile individuals.
  • Develop and maintain marketing and fundraising materials to present to prospective investors.
  • Oversee Investor Relations Associate.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in investor relations role, with significant capital raising experience a plus.
  • Experience at an asset management firm (i.e. private equity, venture capital, hedge fund, etc.)
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable speaking to high profile individuals and institutions.
  • Must use discretion working with confidential and sensitive information regarding the company, executive management, and investors.
  • Self-starter with strong project management and follow-through skills.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate demonstrates a track record of raising capital and managing LP relationships. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships necessary for sourcing investment opportunities.
  • Ability to interpret data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations.
  • Awareness of the market.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit.
  • A track record that demonstrates exceptional persistence, resourcefulness, and leadership in previous endeavors; self-starter, able to initiate projects and work independently.
  • Possesses organization skills and composure: ability to handle competing priorities and to work effectively in a challenging fast paced environment.
  • Proven network and rolodex of relationships with investors preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter and strategic thinker with a track record of working from a blank slate in creating strategies and plans for initiatives. Being proactive and possessing a strong can-do attitude are critical to success in this role.
  • Broad knowledge of technology trends a plus.
  • Past experience interfacing with senior executives of large corporate customers.
