Compensation: $175k - $225k / year
Location: New York City, NY (Onsite)

Total Compensation is targeted at $175K - $225K. To be determined based on candidate's credentials, experiences, and potential value to the department / firm.

 

Position will be hybrid.   Based in NYC or Los Angeles.  

 

Data Management  

 

Our client is a leading global alternative investment manager (~$20 Bil AUM) offering clients primary and secondary investment solutions across the credit, private equity, real estate, special situation and infrastructure asset classes.  The firm emphasizes an opportunistic, value-oriented, and risk-controlled approach offering complex opportunities to their diverse client base.  

   

Currently, they are seeking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Management Professional to join their growing team.  The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving the integrity of the security master, validating data quality, and supporting reporting and automation initiatives using SQL. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong analytical skills and a passion for financial data management to excel at a stable and growing leading hedge fund.

 

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Security Master Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the security master database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for all fixed income securities.
  • Data Validation & Quality Control: Perform regular data validation checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data from multiple sources. Address and resolve discrepancies in data.
  • Reporting & Automation: Create and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to security attributes, trading activity, and data quality metrics.
  • SQL Query Development: Utilize SQL to build queries for data extraction, aggregation, and reporting. Support the development of automated solutions to streamline data workflows and reporting processes.
  • Data Integration: Assist in integrating data from internal and external sources into the security master and other relevant databases.
  • Process Improvement: Work with the team to identify opportunities for improving data management processes and implement best practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree - Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering (or related field).
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in SQL and Excel.
    • Familiarity with data management concepts, databases, and data integrity.
    • Knowledge of financial markets and fixed income instruments.
    • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in large data sets.
    • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
