Our client is a rapidly growing investment firm which makes direct investments across the worldwide public and private equity markets and the entertainment industry. They seek to make direct investments into entertainment projects and businesses, designed to empower creative professionals and catalyze disruptive media and entertainment enterprises.
 
Currently they seek to hire a Vice President level candidate with a 5-10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development or private equity to support the development and execution of the firm’s operational growth strategy and strategic investment initiatives. The role requires superior analytical and modeling skills as well as a demonstrated ability to collaborate across a diverse range of stakeholders, including multiple levels of management within the firm and its portfolio of companies.
 
Responsibilities
  • Research, review and analyze incoming entertainment and media investment opportunities with the assistance of the firm’s operations and finance team
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis of operating businesses and strategic investments utilizing insights from broader market trends and data
  • Oversee all aspects of the due diligence process
  • Hands on involvement in the structure of each investment, including monitoring /drafting of agreements, execution and effective funding.
  • Create concise and compelling presentations for use in both internal strategic review and external corporate development processes
  • Conduct robust market analysis and market research to develop fine-tuned projections around dynamic and rapidly developing business lines
  • Portfolio management: perform follow-up and reporting on existing investments
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s business units in order to propose and analyze strategic decisions
  • Stay abreast of developments in consumer behavior, industry dynamics and technology to aid in the development of operating and investment strategies
  • Maintain relationships and address inquiries from existing and potential investors
  • Produce and distribute investor reporting with the assistance of firm's operations and finance team
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree (MBA or pursuing MBA preferred)
  • 5-10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development or private equity
  • Previous exposure to entertainment, media and technology finance
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting complex transactional, partnership and operating agreements
Skills
  • Highly proficient in financial modeling, projections and statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated skill in crafting high-quality presentations for both internal and external use
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts at a high level to executive leadership

  • Ability to accomplish a lot with limited supervision and / or support  
  • Strong understanding of key strategic and financial players in media, entertainment and technology
