Total compensation to be determined based on candidates credentials, performance and value added to the firm / department.
 
 
Our client is a dynamic asset manager focused on opportunistic distressed structured credit.  They seek to generate superior risk-adjusted returns by focusing on distressed and niche areas of the credit markets where they maintain a competitive edge.  The firm provides its services to pooled investment vehicles primarily utilizing fixed income markets of the United States and Europe. The firm invests in stocks of companies across diversified sectors including fixed income investments consisting of distressed structured credit investments, mortgage-backed securities like RMBS and CMBS, asset-backed securities, CDOs, CLOs, Structured Finance Securities, and Synthetic Securities.
 
The firm employs combination of fundamental and quantitative analysis to create its portfolios, and has ~$500 million of assets under management.  The firm is headquartered in New York City with an additional office in London.
 
 
The firm maintains a diverse client base of investors including Institutional Investors, Endowments, Fund-of-Funds, Pensions, and HNW / UNHN individuals.

The Director of Marketing and Investor Relations will be an integral member of the senior leadership team of the firm and be primarily responsible for serving as the “face of the firm” to the investment community.
 
 
The ideal candidate should be a creative thinker that can oversee and drive the strategic direction of all firm initiatives relating to marketing, investor relations and business development.
 
 
Key Responsibilities will include
  • Develop and implement marketing materials together with the senior leadership team.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with capital sources representing the firm across all of its divisions.
  • Provide high level of service and satisfaction to existing clients. 
  • Serve as a liaison with existing and prospective clients; coordinating all sales initiatives.
  • Qualify prospective investors based on firm criteria, risk profile and investor goals.
  • Ensure the identification of and establish contact with the appropriate type of investor given the particular objective.
  • Coordinate business development initiatives including “roadshows” (planning, coordination, and execution), Client meetings, on-site meetings, conference calls and investor events
  • Maintain the prospect pipeline and relationship database
  • Oversee and Track and document onboarding process for new fund investors
  • Prepare internal sales reporting packages for senior management
  • Conduct industry research and analysis of trends, themes and competitor activity
  • Special projects as needed
  • Seamlessly integrate within the vast existing network of the firm’s connections.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Graduate Degree preferred
  • At least 12 years of financial services work experience (hedge fund background preferred)
  • Strong exposure to diverse financial service products / asset classes with some expertise in Credit products 
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with extreme attention to detail
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated the ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly and successfully in a dynamic business environment
  • Highly self-motivated; desire to work in a collaborative, team environment with acute willingness to pitch in wherever needed; no task too small
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage projects in a timely manner
